How To Worry... LESS

Worrying is simply a waste of time. It accomplishes nothing and when you think about it, the worst case scenario that you were so sure would happen... rarely does! So, here's to letting those worries just drift away. Who needs them anyway?

That's my daughter by the way. I think that she has a pretty good handle on this worry thing!

Yes I'm a Worrier!

I have been fighting this entire issue for what seems the last 30 years. That just happens to be the age of my oldest son. Did you spot it? The moment I had children, suddenly everything wasn't about me. And then two years later, my daughter came along. That means I have two people to worry about, not counting my husband and yes, I worry about him too. And then there is my 76 year old mother, my sister and brother and a soon to be daughter-in-law. Yes, I am a worrier.

I have actually written a diary about worrying. Each day is some new little tidbit to help me control my worrying. I plan on sharing a lot of it in hopes that it will be able to help someone who is fighting this "disease"?? I really don't know what else to call it!

Sometimes This Helps

Quotes about Worrying

Every evening I turn my worries over to God. He's going to be up all night anyway.” Mary C. Crowley

*This makes perfect sense when you think about it. What a worrier needs is a good night's sleep. What a worrier doesn't need is to waste time on something that he has no control over anyway!

Something to Think About

You can only think of one thing at a time, so pick something enjoyable. I know it's easier to worry about something, but train yourself to NOT worry. Yes, I'm working on this... haven't quite mastered it, but I'm getting there. Moving my thoughts to somewhere else is in my hands, so I'm going to redirect my thoughts to something that appeals to me! Who knew we had so much power!!

What Else Am I Writing About??

  • Help... I Have To Give a Speech

I still remember standing in front of my grade eight class and having to deliver a speech. It was probably the scarriest day of my life. I was so unprepared and I was sure that everyone was standing there just waiting for me to make a fool of myself. I hope that these suggestions will help some other poor kid from going through what I did! - 2 years ago

  • Quotes About Grandparents

This is a learning curve actually. My son just got married which means that some day my husband and I will be grandparents. The grandparents that you see is my husband's father and his new wife. And yes, she... - 2 years ago

Are You Worrying Again?

The minute we feel that we have conquered the whole worrying issue, we let down are defences and that is not a good thing to do. The minute you let down those defences, you seem to forget everything you ever learned about how to control your worrying tendencies. That's where a journal comes in very handy. Keep it somewhere private so that you can write down anything that you need to say to get you through the next 24 hours. And re-reading it is also an eye opener. Flip back a few months and you will get some idea of how far you have come.
